Seemingly distant now is Rudy Giuliani’s November 7 press conference that made Four Seasons Total Landscaping Company in Philadelphia famous; now thanks to “Four Seasons Total Documentary,” viewers can relive it and revel in all its glory! Late-night comedians, Twitter users and everyone else alike were touched by its power.
Below, please find a trailer to the documentary.
Now don’t get confused; this post won’t cover anything related to the 2020 election story. What I find so captivating are landscapers themselves.
Marie Siravo
From Daily Beast: Four Seasons Total Landscaping is owned by 65-year-old Marie Siravo and managed by her youngest son Mike along with Mike’s friend Sean Middleton – all typical working class Philadelphians seen here as driven, dedicated people trying to make a living from landscaping services. Their world was turned upside down when an unknown call from Trump staffer asked if the grounds could be used for a presser…
As soon as the rumor spread, Four Seasons was inundated with angry emails and voicemails (“I understand there’s a special offer of bullshit this week;” “Hi, do you provide services like dismantling our democracy?). Instead of accepting its fate with resignation, however, Sean and Mike embraced Four Seasons’ newly found celebrity by taking to social media with clever memes and merchandise sales worth $1.5 million so far.
Selling $1.5 million worth of swag with slogans such as “Make American Rake Again!” and “Lawn and Order!” is nothing short of genius! Marie Siravo even got hired to appear in a Superbowl commercial!
As I close, here are a few examples of the company’s marketing savvy – using political humor without alienating their customers. There’s plenty more on their Instagram account.
